I would make a comment here but seeing that I haven't read either of your posts I feel I shouldn't.

What was the middle part again... ;D

More than likely its due to old fuel being left in it over the winter. You'll need to clean the carburetor and get some fresh gas. A new spark plug probably wouldn't hurt either. Those were great old machines though, and its definately worth fixing. Hope this helps.

I agree with nhbenz, the old fuel with lead was the problem-- "Ethyl" brand leaded gasoline versus ethyl alcohol -- which was the best anti-knock additive for gasoline? Three grams of tetra ethyl lead and 15 percent ethyl alcohol both improved a fuel's power. One was cheap, but it was a well known poison. The other was a clean, renewable fuel that helped farmers and kept nations independent of political oil pressures.

So good luck and keep swinging that detector.

Good Luck and HH

Baddog

I usually don't swig my detector, baddog, but I do drink alcohol....but usually only one drink will do. If I have more than one then I get really silly. ;) I'm attaching a goofy picture to prove my point.

Personally I'm a Classic Coke person. Nothing like fresh caught native brook trout rolled in Aunt Jemima pancake flour, deep fried, salt n peppered with a nice ice cold glass of Coke. It don't get no better than that.

And by-the-way, since we're on the subject, can anybody explain to me the difference between these two poll questions?:

Clearly, much of this is that than which there is none such.

I think the amulet it defiantly Tiano, but they had no jade in Puerto Rico. The Jade must have come from South America. Yea....that's it.
