possible cache?

i live in an old mill town. i have mixed feelings about finding cache here. a plus. banks were fairly far away and people didnt travel as much or need as much out of town as they had a general store. a neg. being a mill town the money wasnt so good and most families being large there would be nothing left to save. im looking for opinions or people that have been through something like this. heres a link with the history of my town if it will help. thanks for any input. bernie.
