Possible coin or what

Found in North East Connecticut and was wondering if this could possibly be a coin or not.The size is one and three eighth of a inch in length and one inch in width exactly. The material is silver in color.

fire melted? have it tested for silver. try a rub with wet aluminum foil shiny side- if you smell sulphur it's silver. could be just junk metal slag
