Hello Friends,

I found this on an old homestead site near Shelton, WA. Measures 4" tall and 1" wide. It is thin, flexible, embossed copper. Most of the items we were finding at this site date to the turn of the century.

We were finding some equestrian artifacts here, so I am guessing that it could be some sort of saddle decoration. If so, it might be upside down in the photo and that hoop could be for a string of leather. No markings on the back. Thanks so much for your thoughts and input!

My first impression was a pendant or necklace, but the size of the thing kinda tosses that one out the window.

My first thought was a backing plate for a wall sconce. These are larger and electric. Yours may have been for a candle.
