That's a beauty! You can make some nice cabs out of that stuff. I would collect as much of that stuff as you can find. You can slab it, and/or cab it, or tumble it, or just leave it rough. No matter what you do to it will make you some extra cash if you decide to sell it. My favorite Oregon material is Succor Creek picture jasper, but that stuff is nice!

Is there more to be found in the area?

This piece was laying right on top of a gravel bar.I looked around but didn't see any more.What your telling me is that i need to go look harder?

It looks a lot like a piece of petrified wood I have. what ever it is, sure is beautiful

Well, it may have come from a source upstream somewhere. Is it mountainous there? some folks take on the challenge to find the source.

Considering that i tore up my leg pretty bad and almost broke my ankle on that hike i will have to give it awhile before i go back.I never did go all the way up this canyon so there could be more up there.
