I posted these pics over a year ago and got a few mixed opinions. I came across it while cleaning out one of my drawers the other day and thought I'd post the pics again and get few more opinions.

It was found on a gravel bar by my daughter about a quarter mile downstream of the Grand Village site in Natchez, MS...not on the site itself, of course.

Hard to tell from the pics, but it's not a cylinder shape, actually more of a square shape to it with worn, rounded edges.

Anyway, just a worn river rock, or maybe something else?

Thanks for looking.

I dare not say, but it definitely would have came home with me. I'm personally leaning toward small roller pestle. Let's see what others say. I don't see any dings or signs of use, so I think you will get geo out of them. ?? Let's see!

Interesting but I have no clue on it, sorry

Just a natural river worn rock. To small to be a Pestle.

Maybe a baby pestle for baby food.........LOL. doubt it, just a rock, but a very interesting one. I would have brought it home with me too.........
