But probably not. Initially (when I had it under my less powerful scope) I thought maybe I had a '64D/D RPM-003. Now that I've got it under my better scope for pictures though, I'm leaning much more toward machine doubling or just straight damage. The coin as a whole is showing some minor MD and die deterioration. The longer I look at it, the more it just doesn't look quite right; but that could just be due to the damage.
Any thoughts, one way or another?

Yeah, you nailed it with the MD diagnosis. That is always my first thought with clad or nickels since it is so prevalent.

in the '60's they would beat those dies------ until they would bleed :BangHead::dontknow::laughing9:

steps?????????.............................. we don't need no stinkin' steps:tongue3:

Darn. Oh well, there'll be a real one someday.
Yea, and 64's seem to be the worst of the lot. Most of the time the MM's too smudgey to even see properly, let alone ID an RPM. Those poor dies...
