I found this in my backyard. Metal detector recognizes it as silver/copper and it weighs 1.379oz. I researched it and closest thing I could compare it to, is natural silver-gold ore. I am new to metal detecting, so any help would be greatly appreciated!:happy3:

Nice that you put a penny in for comparison. For the size and the weight I'll have to say its not silver/copper/gold nor does it have the character. Do a streak test. I suspect you have a melted/corroded chunk of lead.

Hi. Thank you for your response. However, I am a bit confused. I had lead set to "discrimination" mode. And the metal detector is only giving me a silver/copper signal.???

I've had lead come in as high as silver in large bits, balance weights for tires and large lead seals for example. Detectors dont identify what a metal is they just give you their best guess. So try a steak test. Lead gives a light to darkish gray streak, silver a bright silver streak.
