Possible trench art ring?...

As per a suggestion to draw more attention, reposting a ring for a friend with different title.Sorry if duplicate posting is bothersome to anyone,not meant to annoy but draw more attention from people who are more knowledgeable than I am.

Posting this for a friend,he acquired during an estate cleanout years back and the grand father was in ww2 stationed in the phillipines.Fairly certain copper,he thought maybe beetles on the side,Im not sure so looking for any input,know gonna be hard probably to pinpoint but any thoughts appreciated.No markings on inside.Measured as in top middle pic is 3/4s of an inch wide,and in same picture from table up 7/16ths

I looked at (googled) Japanese swords thought maybe from a sword handle it showed some break downs of parts.Didn't see anything real close was hoping it was something like that.

It is an old "Spoon" ring. Not really worth anything. Probably taken off a dead Filipino.

The general look / style reminds me of a Tibetan work.
