I found this zinc round disc while detecting an 1850s cabin site in North Carolina. It appears to have a head on one side but that is all I can make out. The edges are smooth like a worn copper. It is made of zinc making me think it is either not a coin or it is a counterfeit which I have heard of zinc being used. Any ideas? Weight 15.4g and 1-3/16" diameter. Thanks for the ideas!
