Maybe part of a drawer pull. Wood handles might have rotted off??

Ive been thinking and I don't see any pivot points or obvious places to attach it. I think maybe the knobs are screws. if they are I don't think its a pull its too small and there is nothing to grab, but maybe it is part of a locking mechanism for a trunk/box. maybe the other piece was on a hinge and swung between the knobs and kept the top from popping open

Looks like a sash buckle or, as previously stated, scarf slide, IMHO

I looked more closely the two knobs are screws that have broken off at that plate so it was def attached to something

I dont know what it is but I doubt it electrical. It looks like furniture hardware. Maybe for a tiny desk drawer. It may be upside down.
