Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I was metal detecting near where I found the ball jar-http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/bottles-glass/501046-ball-perfect-mason-jar.html-when I got a good hit. I dug it up, and it was this spoon. I looked up the company on Google, but couldn't find any other spoons like this one. I would like to know if it is silver, and an approximate value would be nice.

I've never seen anything by Wm. Rogers & Son that wasn't plated.

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

That one is ‘Chester’ pattern, introduced in 1900 and only made in silverplate. It’s correct that Wm. Rogers & Son didn’t produce any patterns in Silver, but there are a few from Rogers / (Anchor) Rogers. Marks such as ‘AA’ are quality marks relating to the thickness of the plating.
