okay...I have no idea on grading a coin and know I can send it away to get professionally graded, but I have a question about grading. How do you get the grade of a coin when one side of the coin is in worse shape than the other side? Do they grade it based on the worst side or the best side. For example I have a large cent that the front is in much better condition that the reverse. WOuld they grade it based on the reverse since it is in worse condition?

Thanks in advance

Some companies will give it a "net" grade, which is an average. ANACS does this.
