Prairiepup has 'nother if anyone wants to dowse it

Hi all,

I don't want to hog the Dowsing Forum.

This one is 'bout a old man from up Sacremento way who took a wagon with his hard earned Au so far away to So. CA, I could barely believe it. It still raises an eyebrow. He must not have trusted those folks near his home. He braved Indians, Mexican bandits, assorted white trash and who knows what else back in the mid 1800's to bury the stuff. He traveled alone. What makes it even more astonishing was that he was a black man who many of the above would have shot just for the horse and wagon. I think I would have found a safe place closer to home.

Ok..so where's the picture? lol

Oh Master Dowser, Picture cometh!

Was just testing waters.

It is about 405 feet from cliff face tack to Buster tack.

Cliff face is about 123 feet high.

The Indians used those holes on that cliff area, to hide stuff too. Native Americans were supposed to have used a hole on the cliff, to get rid of a bag of $50 dollar gold pieces or face justice from the settlers.

Interesting, got a bunch of archaeological hits on this pic (green Xs), but no cached gold.

Sigh!!

As I said, I had my doubts. Better to find out now than to climb up there to find zip. Thanks.

Yes, the poisonous critters might be a bit too much!

Sorry! Short red line is 145 feet long. Long red line is 405 feet long. This, I think is where you put red arrows. Looks like maybe a small flood plain. This are is so remote and difficult that the Park Rangers recommend only experienced hikers in very good shape. There would have to be enough goodies there to justify a helo for me to go there.

WoW! OD,

THAT would be enough to get me up there when the time comes. I guess that the old guy did not put his goodies in that area,

Thanks OD and Teleprospector

Thanks Art,

I will certainly look over that area. It is, I feel, full of small caves or holes or dandy stash places.
