Pre Football 2 Box Score of Halves

Picked up 2 boxes from my distant branch pickup bank this morning and gave my wife one box and I took the other. Here are the results:

My box: 27 total: 2 Walkers, 8 Bens, 9 1964 Kennedy and 8 40% Kennedy. Total 8.06 oz ASW

Her box: 72 total: 1 Walker, 1 Ben, 3 1964 Kennedy, 67 40% Kennedy. Total 11.72 oz ASW

The 99 silver halves smashes our previous best of 58.

CRH appeals to her competitive nature. She is also amused that I make a show of holding up the two sealed boxes to assess which feels like the better one - and then give her that one. It really is amazing how often I'm right when I make that daring announcement.

We had a rough start to the new year. The first 6 boxes of 2019 produced 3 skunk boxes; the remaining 3 boxes produced 5 silver halves total. These 2 boxes were #7 & 8 of the year.

Funny how results like this make you wish you had more boxes - when the skunk streaks make you glad you didn't have more of those boxes.

I was thinking about your recent score as we were searching these two boxes. When you found 71 & 75, you threw down the gauntlet. I never expected that we would get close to your score, and so soon.

LOL. I'm already the "helper" by picking up and dumping coins. I started doing this and she jumped in when she saw that I was having fun. She's very competitive and actually finds more fossil Megalodon teeth than I do by taking chances that I won't risk and by hiking on the beach/climbing over & under fallen trees too fast for me to keep up. Maybe I should change my handle to "witnesses the Megalodon hunter"... With CRH, I thought I'd have a chance to beat her at something! I still outhunt her when metal detecting, well, so far...

And hey - I give her those better boxes. I hold the sealed boxes up to assess the weight, put them to my ear to hear the silver calling out to be rescued, and sniff the box edges to smell the higher silver content inside. When I am convinced one sealed box is the better one, I generously give it to her. I don't understand why she rolls her eyes at this generous gesture.

Mega: I wish my wife would at least show 1% interest in the hobby. Yea, but just wait until I kick the bucket, I do hope she cashes in the silver at melt price +/- and not take It to some bank that has a self serve coin counter at FV. If that happens then I'm going to roll myself out of that coffin and haunt her. If she sells at anything close to melt then she'll see the BIG PAYOFF.
