Preisner tea pot set

I want to say buy buy buy, BUT, do you know it's real sterling?
I got some of that stuffs. One teapot alone is worth around 1500 to 3500, if you can find someone that will give you that.
Not sure about the name you mentioned, check Ebay, and see what some of those silver teapots have sold for.
You may be surprised. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Here, take a look:

it's real sterling and havent seen any completed listings for this exact one, I'm not buying for resale, but I want a good deal in case I hit hard times I can make my money back plus some

somebody is asking 850 for the same one on ebay but it may not be worth near that, I'm going to go through my basement and see if I can find some things to trade for it and lower the price, if I can get it for 100 or 50 with trading as well that would be awesome!

If really hard times ever hit, then it will probably be worth nothing, as won't no one else have any money to be able to afford to take it off your hands.
In another light, at least you'd be able to make you some tea.
I can't keep a shine on silver for nothing! :BangHead: I think it's all the salt in the air down here.
I've given up. Good luck to you, though! :icon_thumright:

it's not the salt I live in kansas and have the same problem, and I don't mean like the whole country hits hard times I'm just meaning my family

I buy silver/gold on a regular basis for melt and resale...I would not hesitate another second! If the item is sterling and comparable to the example above in weight and condition (no dents), that would be a no brainer for me.

The example above would melt at around $370 and resale value likely a couple hundred more.

ok awesome I'll pull the trigger and get it in the morning!

so the owner is letting me do lay away on the tea set, I've brought the price down to 65 by trading him some fossils and two lapel pins one was a Tiffany and co and the other a Balfour Olympic pin Monday I'm going in with the rest in cash and picking it up

Slow down, what is the Balfour Olympic pin, Tiffany piece and it's makeup? Throw some pictures on here if you could. I want to make sure you're getting at least the same value as the original deal. This may be a better deal using some barter items or it could be that you're bartering out some good profit. I am not a fossil guy unless it's a watch or something but pics of the items you are putting in the deal will help.

If this seller is a dealer, buyer/reseller, please let us help you so you don't get the lesser end of this. We haven't seen pics of the exact item you are planning on buying and you are bartering some premium items.

The reason I say all this is that "old ladies" looking to sell their old sterling are not particularly looking for anything in trade but cold, hard, cash.

the Tiffany pin says "try god" it's worth about $20 it didn't have the box or bag, and the Olympic pin is about the same the fossils aren't complete examples but are neat, he owns an antique store and is opening up a rock store where he also does custom jewelry, I don't have pics of any of it and it's all already with him, but I'm happy with it all of the fossils are ones that I found myself

Without seeing the EXACT ITEMS your are potentially buying and their marks...I am now concerned about your deal with these people. Dealers that own an antique store have dang well heard of places to melt precious metals when they have them if they can't sell them locally or online for over the melt value.

Post pictures on the items and their marks before handing over a dime or anything else unless you know exactly what you're paying for. The sellers are not sounding like innocent ladies down the street unloading some old items at this point!

I DON'T CARE IF THE SELLER SAYS IT'S STERLING! SOMETHINGS POTENTIALLY WRONG HERE!

okay I've handled them already, the set is sterling, and the ebay link on this thread is the same set, dealers make mistakes all the time
I've gotten several items way under spot from dealers

so I picked it up today everything is perfect! I'll post pictures in the morning!

Great, I was getting concerned that I might be pushing you into a bad deal, if that's the set you will do just fine. Personally if it doesn't sell well over melt I hold on to the silver until it reaches another climax value.

the tea pot is a different pattern than the sugar bowl and creamer but in cool with that it all scraps out at more than 400 ( I'm not scrapping it) and it's all monogrammed but that's cool
