Well This is not amazing but nice finds all the same. Have searched the following

4 Dime Boxes: Box 1 held 6 silver rossies, Box 2 held 6 silver rossies, Box 3 held 2 silver rossies, Box 4 held " Skunk "

2 Nickel Boxes: Box 1 held 25 pre 60 nickels ( 1 being a 1939 D semi key ), Box 2 is not finished but I have found 18 pre 60's so far

1 Quarter Box: " Skunk "

1 Half Box: 1 1960 Ben Franklin Half, 1 1964 Kennedy, 1 1966 40%, 2 NIFC Halves

Saw some post on here saying the fed is CRHing and taking silver. Sorry I just don't believe it. Unless someone can prove it I believe it is still out there to be had but as we hunt more it is being taken out of circulation.
Good Hunting!!

The person that made that statement doesn't know what they're talking about. Just a guess they were making. Nothing to back it up. In other words, it ain't happening!

Yep, that's a great haul! jealous of those dime boxes

???
Dr. Detector is 1939 D nickel not a semi key date???? I thought it was. There were only alittle over 3 million minted. Am I wrong in my thoughts on it??? No matter what, it is one I have looked for and needed for my book

Knew I had saw it before online

Jefferson Nickel - Rare Nickels and Errors to Watch For
The Jefferson Nickel series doesn't have any major rarities. This is one reason it's such a good series for a beginner to collect (or anyone on a modest budget).

Key Dates: 1938-D, 1938-S, 1939-D, 1939-S and the 1950-D
Overmintmarks: 1949-D/S, 1954-S/D, 1955-D/S
Overdate: 1943/2-P
Double Dies: 1939 (doubled MONTICELLO, FIVE CENTS), 1943-P (doubled eye), 1945 (rev) and 2004
Full Step Nickels: Jefferson nickels that have "full steps" on the reverse sell for a premium.
1942-S with the reverse of the 1941: the rarest Jefferson Nickel. Only one is known to exist. Wouldn't it be cool to find one of those in your pocket change!

Very good score on those dime boxes. Rarely do I find more than 2 per box.

No man I'm messin with you. I have been hunting nickels for over 14 years and that is the one I cannot find! Lol. I'm nearing a million nickels over that time and still no 1939D! Your finds are really quite impressive.
