I recently learned that the place that one of my friend’s lives in was originally a school house from the late 1800’s. The small school was converted to a home in the 1950’s. My friend has lived there since the 80’s and doesn’t recall anyone detecting there since he moved in. Yesterday I went out for 2 hours after work and today another 4 hours in the afternoon. So far I’ve only covered the front yard and I haven’t yet found anything from the 1800’s but I’ve done pretty well.

The most surprising find was this set of 11 quarters, all in the same hole. The set consists of 2 – 1960, 2 – 1963, 2 – 1964 and 5 – 1965’s.

Other silver coins found are these;

And of course, the normal clad and 10 wheat backs.

Most of the time I was accompanied by my friends two teenage kids. The girl was with me when I found the 11 quarters. I agreed to give her the 5 – 1965’s after I clean them up and photograph them.

All the good coins were near the road and I had less finds as I got closer to the house. I’m hoping to make some more finds in the back. The foundation from the old out house is visible.

GREAT FINDS!!! You have to love schools (of all ages). I've found tons of great stuff at schools, coins, jewelry and a few new friends. Your post made me think of an old firehouse that's been converted into a home nearby. Maybe I should knock on the door?

S,

silver is always nice.

Looks like you got a good site there. Would
work the heck out of it.

have a good un................

YEEOW! That IS a good spot. After the backyard, you might want to change your settings and go over it again. You have a nice friend there.

Cool digs. That's a good haul.

You got that preamp up to 4? Better crank that AC to 85 and the DC to 45. You are going to need the depth to get them 1800's coins.

What ever happen to the half dime site? You pick it clean?

Good to see you are still at it.

Bob
