prices going up for certain detectors?

With the new reality shows coming out about detecting, Will that drive up the cost for new detectors? I plan on getting my son a Atpro for a graduation present, I believe Garret is sponsoring one of the shows. Will that drive up the price? I would hate to pay a more money if these shows drive the demand up. Any thoughts? Thanks Dan
