it has a hinge...thx. soaking in oil now...only find except clad today...

Have you tried WD-40, or is that a no-no. Nobody ever mentions it on these posts???

didn't cross my mind...i'm dying to know what's inside..but don't wanna damage it.

Always have duct tape, WD-40, hammer, and a pike in yur handy tool box....

Rouge

It is rouge. It had a little puff with it inside to apply it. It was named after Princess Patricia of Connaught who was once in line for the British throne. A couple named "Gordon" exploited her beauty and love life (since she gave up her royal claims and married a commoner) which made the product a big hit in the U.S. It was sold in ALL major department stores. It's exquisite!!!

Great find.

got a break in the weather today between Christmas shopping..
looks like copper ..how do i get it open without damaging it...owg...hh...
i'm hoping something good is inside....

been there done that...didn't go over very well...lol
i've had several coins that i've over cleaned..ouch..i still kick myself......HH....
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF YOU GUY'S ON HERE...AND GALS....
PEACE...
OWG...

I mentioned hot water it is not damaging and when you heat and let metal cool a little the expasion will possibly allow the lid to be lifted with out prying Hot tap water should do it HH chug

good call...chug..i was a machinist for 20 + years. we would put one piece of metal in an oven and another in dry ice to make them go together..very close tolerances. not sure if it's that extreme...lol...anyway i'll be darn sure i'll post what i find in this darn thing..if i ever get it open...
THX....OWG...

Shouldnt be a big problem with a knife or flat small screwdriver. About oil if it had a mirror in it might take off the back or reflective material of the mirror in it.I have found about 5 of those and locket hearts etc with picture inside and a real small screwdrivr will open as on one side is a hinge to be concerned with watch real close where the hinge is, they're all delicate jmho

as I said......

There is no mirror. There is no picture. It was a makeup container. Unless you want to use it to pretty yourself up for the holidays, there is nothing to ruin!! LOL:laughing7:

Hello OWG. Nice find. I found a hinged one a few days ago that was kinda beat up and already open. Yours is better. HH and Merry Christmas.

Here's my PP and a selection of pretty tins that I took to the soft wire wheel. They are interesting. The top one will not budge, but I am sure will someday. i'm sure there is a puff of rosy, rust inside.
