I haven't been out allot lately, my son and I went on a short hunt with Oldjerseygirl.
He got skunked, she found a wheat and I found a wheat and this compact. I have found allot of compacts over the last year but not in as nice shape as this one. My son googled it while I was still looking and it said it was 1920's-1930's and allot of women hide there half dollars inside. So we had to look! Ha, just dirt! Lol

Ahhh, the roaring 20's! Would have been pretty neat if a half was in there

Nice compact. Similar to one I found a while back.

I found the top part to one of those last year,
neat find

Yeah it was fun looking inside to see if it was there.

I'm still amazed it opened and was all together. I'm out helping my son Christmas shop, I'll clean it when I get home.

Merry Christmas guys!

Every time I find an old compact, I have to open it to see if there are coins inside.....someday! That looks to be about the size of the one I had my one and only SLQ in when I lost the whole thing.

Thanks wv hilljack.

Dam Dave still can't believe you never went back to look?

That really is in good shape! Sorry it didn't have any Christmas presents inside for you.

At least you got out with your son! Good stuff!

I like the case itself, most cases are crushed, broken mirrors, hing broke off, I just read that the Scovill Manufacturing Co. made the case. Interesting, knowing most of my buttons come from this same co.

Always good to be with my son.

Good show Brad. I have found several "rouge tins" this year. One was really intact, and like you, I had to pry it open. I imagined that there were a couple mercs in there.

GL&HH!

That piece would 'tumble' clean up nicely!

He did brad, no beans. I even ripped apart the trunk of my car, went to the place we left his truck, still no beans. I figured I owed him for refinding my half reale

Ha, lol I figured as much, maybe he left it on top of the car.
Now you'll have to go back and do the entire road back to his house lol . Wasn't it a long way home?
At least he had the thrill of finding it once

Yes thats true women did put coins in compacts my buddy Ed found one at our park it had a barber quarter inside..Nice find for sure..

That was a rough place to hunt. Almost impossible with all the junk. Glad you found something interesting anyway.
