Prizm In-Depth Info and Tips

Hey Guys, I'm looking for the Lowdown on the Prizm series. It would be awesome if we could have on page with all the details and tips compiled about the prizm metal detector from the past few years. Here's what I'm wondering right now. All the stats I'm looking for are in relation to the factory coil.

Max depth
Ability to cope with beaches or wet sand
Prospecting capabilities (How small of gold grains can it pick up)
Pro's and Con's of the detector
Target I.D. patterns
etc.

Also, what purpose does the audio serve on the prizm II (other then alerting you to look down at the screen) I'm wondering if the audio can be used to judge depth, or metal type, or for any other uses.

These are my questions so far, but I'm sure I'll come up with a few more in the next few days as I'm hitting some researched locations after a three year break (even though I never really started).

I used a priz II for 7 yrs of my 8yrs of mding. First this machine is dollar for dollar the best detector . Some of my finds over the seven yrs . 7 gold rings 51 siver rings. You will find that the priz II is a ring finder . The faster you signal repeats can tip you to the depth of you object. A fast repeat is shallow. True story. It had just rained hard and I was in a park . I got a faint singnal that hit foil and flashed to fifty cent dollar range . I must have stood over the target for 3 min trying to pinpoint it . I dug down 9 inches and found a star saphire ring. It was gold 3 karat stone and sold it for 2500.
Now some people will tell you they never found silver with the Priz II . I found in the years swinging the II over 30 coins of silver . I also found a flying eagle penny(1858) at 6 inches. In normal conditions you should get 4 to 6 inches with the II . But only time on the priz II and expierence is going to determine how successful you truly are . I swing a IV now and to give you some perspective I found 53 silver in one year . It took 7yrs to find 30 with the priz II . I am sure the priz II would have found thos However the more Expirience the better the results . The wet sand is not good . Dry sand with no discrimination is awesome. At all metal great results . Dig it all and have a ball I say . Never prospected with it . With larger coil you will not mis a dime . Sniffs them out .Hope this helps you Rob.

You have got to be kidding me.
When you learn your detector you will not even look at the screen because coins on edge will give a different reading. Moisture, halo will also change the display to something you may decide to not dig. Audio will give you depth, size and if there is another object down there too.

Beaches can be hunted with reduced sens in the wet sand with some detectors and not well with others as you will waste time scooping trash or unstable sounds. Thats why many use water detectors. Learn to find the field tests on the Prizm II.

there is no set max. depth on any machine.. all depends on soil coditions, object being hit etc... your machine limited in what it will do, that is why it is a lower end machine... it will not get you the depth and sensitivity of a higher end machine... that being said... there arent really tips for the lower end machines.. just use them and have fun

I'm looking to get a Prizm 6T also and would love all the info people can give.
Can anyone with a 6T give the depth that can be expected?
How is it at eliminating ground minerals?
