I found this bullet in a field that I have recovered Civil War Bullets from here in Shippensburg, PA . My scale and calipers are missing so I have no reference other than the quarter in this photo to size. This hit something hard but the base is hollow. Anyone have any idea what time period this is from and what it might be? Sorry I don't have something to weigh but this things impacted and probably wouldn't matter measuring.

I agree. Shotgun slug.

20th century, probably 50 years old or less.

Ah, you make me feel young.

But the Foster style slug has been around for 90 years. That was all I could "gun" hunt with in this area for most of the 40 years I have been at it; and to living memory before that. Last three years somehow an enlightened legislator allowed an actual rifled bore/bullet to be used in this area.
