We decided to do an area close to where I got the Viking Silver Ingot before the crop was too high. We spent 5 hours (10 man hours) covering quite a large area as the signals were sparse. At least we can tick this off the list as a bad one, & move on...

1 Roman Coin
Fragment of Medieval Purse Bar
Poor condition 1st C AD Roman Brooch
Roman Bracelet fragment
Large foot of a Cauldron
A repair piece to a lip of a bronze pot
Buckle

Tomorrow will be different :tongue3:

It's still good to get out crusader! Next time, I'm sure you'll fill the post with your great finds. :)

Happy hunting!

True, we are just trying to maximise our finds during the last few months. All information, including negative results is useful. It might be our worst day but not a bad one.

Nice bad day. No chance of Roman coin in my wildest dreams...

Not bad, just our worst this year

That shows how good Your year was! The bracelet would make my day! :icon_thumleft:

I've had worse days :D

Hi crusader You find so much roman relics and coins . I,m just a bit puzzled by the lack of ruins and foundations of all those roman structures you have in your plain looking crop feilds you post.

Awesome worst finds :laughing7: I hope one day to get to Europe and have an opportunity to dirtfish for Roman relics.

Most of the fields are plain looking, because they were always fields, but fields that have been farmed since the Roman times or before. Even the sites with structures would only show the odd large stone, because for the most part they are 18 inches under ground & consist of mostly post holes.

Cru, you and your father's worse day would be my best day anyday! :laughing7:

Better luck tomorrow mate.

Hi Cru-

I was skunked today as well. . . but then when I opened a
new roll of paper towels tonight I saw this. . . :)

Weird huh?

paper towels.webp

It appears the paper towel gods are encouraging you not to give up!
My MDing day was also quite pathetic. 19 cents, 300 pounds of crapola.
So let's not let it slow us down, gotta get in our MDing days while the weather holds out.

Hope your next hunt you find the BIG ONE.

Feel your pain my friend! A 6 hour hunt and less than $1.50 plus 40lbs of junk. Beats working though! Sometimes you gotta have a bad day to make the next time even better! HH!

Well said bud!

Must have been the phase of the moon we are in.....or the way we were holding our mouths....something.
I hunted and dug for 5 hours. One coin....first five minutes....dropped from previous hunt there.
Nothing else.......NOTHING ELSE FOR 5 HOURS.
(I'll trade you to Korean coin I found for your Roman coin.....:)

My condolences :laughing7: I bet Cru Dad was happy to not have too dig too much

No, it make him more cranky :laughing9: I'm not sure what he hates more, lots of rubbish or no rubbish :laughing7:

Even I was a little put off my game, as we still have a few better choices right now, & we normally leave the high risk gambles until last but the crop forced our hand, so it was the right decision & we now have our answer.

I'm off out soon to make up for yesterday :headbang:

oh i know you and dad will bounce back crue! :icon_sunny: willy
