I am thinking of getting a Sov. GT I live in the Pacific Northwest. On my other post (help) I received this reply (The sovereign GT is driven MAD by the harsh soils in the PAC NW.) would Like to Know if any one else has had any problems with the gt in the Pacific Northwest. Also would like to have a review from anyone in the pacific Northwest who uses the Sov GT. Please Help me Before I buy. Thanks Jim

It was me who made the comment. I am not an expert user by any means, but I have found that the Sovereign GT is not stable with iron mask "on" in Oregon soils. I have to hunt 100% of the time with it off. Even then, I often find myself hunting in auto sens. because I cannot find a stable sensitivity above 1 or 2. I do relish other comments. I know there was a user from Seattle who experienced the same.

I Used a sovereign for 11 years in the N.E.
& Always used Auto sense.

No worries !

The Sovereign has "True" Auto Sense.
It is the Only Detector you can count on the auto Sensitiity
to adjust Correctly.

as For Iron mask The GT Has a switch to turn it off.

Yes, but you live in the NE USA. I think the soils might be different? It would be nice to have a very experienced Pac NW GT user chime in. Yes, the GT has a switch to disable iron mask. I have been wondering if that diminishes performance of the GT....Anybody know?
