I'm mainly a MDer but branching out, I've read about people finding state proof coins some silver some not. My question is how to u tell if it's not a silver one. Sorry if it's been asked hundreds of times

If I am correct, any silver or silver proof will have an s mint mark.

What about the non silver ones I read r out there

There are silver and non silver proofs in the state quarters. Both have the S mint mark. Weigh them.

Ok thanks I'll keep my eyes open

I think that if you look at the edge of the coin, and if you see copper with a silver colored metal, those are clad coins. But if it is a solid silver color, those should be silver coins.

Yea I know all bout that cuz ove been metal detecting for awhile

Sorry; I did not know. Just trying to help.
