I spent today trying to figure out how to get more out of my bounty hunter pinpointer i got free with my metal detector after being frustrated with it and almost ordering a centech from harbor freight. But i figure i better try to much more out of this one before i dive off into another pp.
I got to say, whoever did this video on youtube deserves great props, at least from me. i went from getting maybe 3/8 at most from my pp to an 1 to 1 1/4 inch depending on the metal and size, which helps out a newbie like me an aweful lot till i got better with my md. I also noticed while doing the mod the outer shaft of the pinpointer was a good bit longer then the inner metal detecting node itself. So i notched off about a 1/4 inch off the shaft as well sanded it down some and superglued it back together.
Now i have a much better quality pp! here is the vid that helped me out tremendously:
Whoever you are, thank you
