A2 Thanks very much for a reply I think the building that had to be there at some point in time was either a smoke house /butcher shop or even a wood shed That guess is based on the tools and items I located I would think if it had been a black smith shop there would be more metal items in the general area . Like if a small item turned out wrong the person would have given it a toss and started a new one I have been familiar with the spot where the tin is laying since 1966 .From that time on the was no building there .But since I have found the items mentioned some thing else occurred to me During the time I know of the area there have been three very large pine species trees growing there. All of the surrounding area is mixed hardwoods I always thought of the pine trees as out of place because they stood alone and where much bigger than any other tree nearby .Over the last 15 years to of the three have died and fallen over . Now I think that someone planted those three trees as part of a home stead that was located there .Also I once seen an old map that indicates a home stead about 150 to 200 yard away from that spot .Or perhaps I misinterpreted the map or this spot may have been where they located a smoke house and the rest of the buildings where else where ie nearer to water There are a few depressions in the area that I thought may have been spots where buildings once stood .But I did not find any indication of any buildings other than the spot where the tin was. Also there is a prominent rock out cropping in the same general location I t appears that at some point in time someone had used a chisel to cut rocks off of that outcropping, but no tools to prove that happened If people lived there than maybe there are a few old coins scattered about in what is now the middle of a forest .I guess I keep looking until i find some thing or run out of time Those stones are the product of someone taking time to make them look like they do .What there purpose was baffles me now .But maybe finding them will lead me to the next place where I will find another clue to the history of that place Thanks AGAIN A2 you have helped me keep an open mind about the area in question
