Weighs 1.2 oz. Hard. Some flat crystal like surfaces. Scraped with knife and it won't flake. Last picture is next to my gold wedding band. Pictures taken just left of a window during a downpour (very cloudy).

It doesn't look like gold to me, but that doesn't mean it isn't, You say you scraped it with a knife and it didn't flake, did the knife do anything to the specimen, a scratch, scrape mark etc.?

Try pushing the point of the knife into it, if it's gold it should at least make a noticeable mark/indent where the point of your knife is pushed into the specimen, gold is malleable, a soft metal and as such will be marked by enough pressure from a steel knife blade.

Also pyrite has a hardness of 6 to 6.5, steel has a hardness of around 5 depending on the type of steel, so a knife wouldn't scrape/scratch pyrite, pure gold on the other hand has a hardness of 2.5 to 3. and would be easily scratched by your knife

I also think it's pyrite.

I would suggest hitting it with a hammer and you would see it shatter, but it's too nice of a specimen for me to suggest that, keep it for what it is a nice pyrite specimen!

Y'all are right - it's pyrite. Ran my metal detector across it and not a peep. Sure looks good though :) Thanks everyone.
