q about excal coil size

I'm thinking of getting an Excal II. Should I get the 10" coil or 8"?

I went with the 10". The larger coverage per sweep is what I wanted. Unless you are going to be working around a lot of rocks/stumps/etc, I'd go with the larger coil. The only downside I can think of is if you have a physical disability and don't want to use a harness.

disclaimer: the 17" coil is my everyday coil for my CTX.

Smaller coil is easier to pinpoint but big coil covers more area. A big scoop with the big coil is a deadly combo in my opinion.

I only hunt with 15" and 18" coils on my excals and Sov GT and I can easily pinpoint with both, go with the 10 inch, more area you cover the more chances to find gold.

Thanks everyone. I'm going with the 10" coil.
