What is the difference between a newcomb 5 and 6. I looked at all the different varieties and they all look the same to me.
Can someone shed some light on this. what do i look for?

Someone said he was pretty sure it was an newcomb 6. here is the post to be exact.

Congratulations on a nice dime and decent Large Cent. The Large Cent was clean enough and clear enough for me to attribute the variety and 1827 had 12 varieties, most are Common, several Scarce, and two Rare varieties. I am fairly certain yours is a Newcomb 6, one of the Scarce varieties.

thanks
