I posted this in my hunting log, but I figured I might get more answers if I put it in a separate thread in the main forum:

While asking for halves at banks today, I ended up getting 3 US mint rolls of NIFC half dollars. The coins on the ends look gold-toned, so they aren't in great shape, but the ones inside the rolls are probably brilliant uncirculated. My question is: Are these worth anything over face value? Should I save them? I generally don't save clad, but if they are worth anything I'll hang on to them. Should I just open them and dump them?

Save the 30$ worth for 100 years and they will be worth something for sure

Yes, so long as they are in Mint rolls they should go for a premium. Don't open them.

For $30 I think I'd keep them. I found $50 today in UNC dollars, one $25 roll of Sac's and a roll of '79-P. I'm planning on keeping them both. I think I'd definately keep full rolls of NIFC halves.

Yeah, I got 2006 and 2001 mint roll) last week. Check eBay sold listings; they go for a little above face.
