I am using the At Pro and was wondering if silver can register in a range other than the range shown in manual and on machine. A silver dime usually shows around 85-87 and a silver quarter in the high 80's. Has anyone found that the same coins found deeper than 4 or 5" will actually come in at a lower number? Has anyone found the deeper silver coming in in the 70's?

I Like the question... Im learning too... :tongue3::thumbsup:

I don't have enough experience with my machine to give an informed answer.. but from what I understand, deep silver will register on the notches, but the VDI may not register. As far as the VDI goes, from what I understand, the silvers' conductivity will not change, despite its depth.

I have noticed that it is all about the soil, i have hunted some spots that silver dimes ring up as pennies 80-81 rare but it does happen for me........silver dimes for me normally register 82-84 , clad quarter 86-87, silver quarter 89-91 but different soil types will affect the number reading i believe , i got to where i dig everything thats solid and it works better for me in the "goody" department

All my silver dimes I have found this year since I upgraded to the Pro (5 so far) have hit at 82/83. All were around 5-8 inches deep and gave very clear distinct high tones.

I had a Rosie show at 67-68. Nearly didn't dig it.
Had a 10k class ring show in the low 30s. Nearly didn't dig it.
Sound was great on both though.

Peace ✌

I found a sterling ring that was 99 and coins are consistent with Aliciakays readings.
