Question for Former Tellers and Bank Employees

different banks have different needs, perhaps the best thing to do would be to ask the head teller, of course without sounding suspicious!! :icon_thumleft:

I be there are thieves who would try to go for boxes of coins. How traceable would those be once you broke them open? Hard to get away with but so many coins and they don't have serial #s like paper money.

I get your logic there, but I do not think there is anyone who would rob a bank for a few hundred bucks or even a few thousand for that matter. I would be surprised if even 1 bank robber in the last 50 yrs in the U.S. has demanded coins when robbing the bank (or since the banks no longer held gold coins for that matter), todays coins are too heavey, and too worthless. Even if a robber only gets a few hundred bucks or a couple thousand, they were obviously hoping for more. Robbers dont want coins. They want as many hundred dollar bills as possible. IMO

Working on a dime hunting strategy. At your branch, how many boxes of dimes were kept on hand on average?

Didn't know, and didn't care - it was the head teller's responsibility. Course back then, nobody bought an entire box at a time.

Thanks all. I was afraid that no one would know.
