I just purchased a new Tesoro Sand Shark when I set the threshold is is not steady but oscillates high and low tones. It sounds allot like my Tejon but its suppose to be steady, is this a problem or typical. I know allot of people with Tejon's say an unsteady threshold make a deep machine (and my Tejon goes deep) but the sand shark is a PI . So whats up with that?? thanks any help is appreciated.. Mike

Mine does the same, it's not a steady tone, it goes in and out, seems like noise or faint false hits. I find it happens when EMF is around, like in my house or anywhere near the underground power lines around my house. A target hit sounds much different though, more pronounced. Have you tried it outside, away from the house, and not near any power (or other EMF) sources?

No I did not ! That's exactly the information I was looking for. I took it in the back yard and it was not quite so bad but while I was playing with it (in the dark) a cat jumped out of the wood pile and scared the crap out of me!! So I went in the house. I'm going to try it at the beach this weekend do you have any advice you can give me (to speed up the learning curve) I appreciate your responce !!

I used mine this morning on the beach for the first time. It was really very simple to use and pinpointing was easy. I'm pretty impressed with it.. But the beach was really rough 6-8 ft waves and It was very hard to stay on the dry side. I had fun using it and was very happy about how well it worked

Be ready to dig up a lot of bottle caps. I have a box full now. ;D

So far its been nails. But I'm looking forward to bottle caps!!!

I love mine. If it's metal and under your coil, it will find it!
