if a war nickel has no mint mark on the back does that mean it is a counterfeit?

let me guess... 1942? if so its not war, gotta have mintmark. if its 43',44', or 45' you have a RARE nickel...

In 1942 half way threw the year they changed the metals from nickel to 35% silver- clad. We call them war nickels because they where changed to the silver-clad during WW2. They are not rare coins! There where millions of them minted between 1942 and 1945 and most of us average around 1 per $250.00 dollars searched. With the silver in them they are worth more then face value!
