It has not been a bitter winter here in the Upper Midwest by any means but anytime you can't hunt its frustrating watching our southern neighbors still hunting. Fortunately I was able to get back to a home site I have been hitting the last couple of months between snowfalls. The weather was in the high 30s...no wind...sun was out and the snow was melting. And last but not least the ground was not frozen. So this past Monday I made the best of a 3 hour hunt saving 4 more coins from the ground of this 1902 property. A 1943 P silver war nickel, a last year 1909 Indian head penny i

n great shape and two wheaties...a 1917 and 1947. Nothing spectacular but not bad for a January day that I was lucky to detect in at all!
