Any where there have been people in the past should be a good spot! Remember that coins (and relics) tend to settle in the low spots, I would check any pockets in the bedrock, shoals, or anywhere things could be trapped.Good luck, and get out there !

Not really rocky around here more mucky than anything.

Ask some old timers if there were any old swimming holes on the river and if so then focus on them.

Good luck

I'd be all over it like a fat kid on a cupcake :icon_biggrin:

Yep, get right to that. But be very careful cause that stuff can be like quicksand. You'll get stuck and quick. So take a friend or a cell phone. Goodluck out there. jgas

no coins but found a old spoon I need to clean up and alot of alum cans very trashy.

rivers tend to be trashy just keep at it if theres trash theres goodies the trash meens folks have been there :icon_thumright: good luck

the spoon doesnt appear to have any writing yet it was fairly deep its copperish and black right now in color have to figure out a way to clean it.

I would try the slowest moving section of the river and look for an optimal spot. That way the old stuff is not as likely to have been washed away in floods. The spoon sounds old. I think you may have a good start.

Well back in the day rivers were more popular then they are today. We used them to wash our clothing, picnick by, swim in or use for power. So lots of spots on that river could have good potential. You should do some research and find out where these things may have been. Like someone said ask the old folk around town and stuff...

Keep @ it and HH!!
