quick score from a teller call

I got a call from a teller this morning telling she had $18 in loose halves and some were silver. I normally get calls when they get a lot of halves, but she knows what we roll hunters look for and at this bank they can't buy from their own branch. I went in and bought them and got 3 40%ers. No need to dump, I'll simply put the remaining halves towards gas money. Easy and quick. I was hoping they were all gonna be keepers, but some is better than none.

Nice little score, T. Where I search, these kinds of tellers are deemed mythical...they can't be loyal to just one person, too many roll hunting customers to please, at times one can't even buy "all the halves", because some must be reserved for other customers. I've never received a call like that, I don't even think it's possible here, short of bribery. Oh yeah, that doesn't work for me either.

well, most banks don't do it, but there are 3 or 4 tellers that do call me from time to time. And it's not very often when I get calls, so when I do I usually go in and buy them so that they know I will take them off their hands when they call. If I get a call and don't come in and take them, I probably won't get any more calls from that teller.
