Quick trip back to the 1700's

Yesterday I had a about 30 minutes to kill after work and decided to hit a very old historical site with my two hunting partners. All three of us are new to the metal detecting hobby, and have only been doing this for a few weeks. We all three work together and that makes the experience for us very cool and exciting. The island that we live and work on has a long history dating back into the 1700's when the English first settled on the Georgia coast, so the dirt fishing we do is turning up so many different items from a wide range of time periods. It' almost like jumping into a time machine and getting a small look at what happened here hundreds of years ago.
The site we hunted yesterday was out in the woods a couple of miles from from the ruins of a fort that was built in the 1700's. I didn't expect to find much in just 30 minutes, but to my surprise started getting hits rights away. The Garrett 250 was showing iron down about 6 to 8 inches and when I dug them up I wasn't sure I had found anything, but the items were ringing up iron, so I have decided to try to clean them up by soaking them to see if there is anything under all the crud. Here is a picture of the three items before soaking, and I will update what I discover when I get them clean.
Also here are some pictures of some WWII ammunition I found in a park on the island two days ago.

I see rimless brass and a stripper clip. Do you suppose Springfield M1903 clips? That was standard issue in WW I, I believe, carried as late as early WW II and later sold as surplus by the tens of thousands. Good finds for your display.

Check the headstamps on the brass for the date . Could be M1 Garand as well as the 1903 Springfield.
