RAF Pin and Rosette, looking for age or ID please

Hello all, The RAF Pin has no makers mark and I have no idea if it's Canadian or English. The rosette( which is what I'm calling it) is odd in that it's copper on the front and iron on the back. My digging buddy who's been at it for 17 years has no idea as well. Any help would be great, thanks.

The rosette is late 1800-early 1900's. Don't know about the pin.

The c for Canadian is superimposed in the middle.
