Hello All. I found this piece near a rail line active in the 1880's.

Top part: "ATLANTIC COAST LINE RAIL ROAD" Bottom part: "VA. NC. SC. GA. ALA. & FLA." It's about 4 X 3-IN by 7/16-IN thick and is magnetic.

I see lots of stuff regarding the Atlantic Coast Line RR but of course nothing specific to this particular item...so I need some help from some of you RR folks out there.

BTW being iron, how should I best preserve this thing?
