I forgot to post this piece I found this summer when I found it but I would love to get some info on it. I Googled and dug as deep as I could but am lost on this one.
It was found near an old railroad dump-site. I say that cause next to these old tracks it looks like they dumped a bunch of ties, wood, metal, and other railroad scraps. From what I can make out the top says "Newett Ltd." and the bottom says "Patnt Pend 1877"

looks like the cover of the axle end where the axle was greased/oiled
