Got back to a grove with a playfield I had permission for some time back.
Dug some clad that surfaced here and there and the rain was coming and going all evening in scattered showers.
I thought the silvery wire piece on the bottom was jewelry of some type, but it is actually an eyeglass frame.
Too late as I already snapped the photo.

Was quite surprised however to pop this silver quarter out in about 3-4" of soil (on edge).
I have not dug many silver coins this shallow before.

Glad to have some moisture in the ground again, as it was impossible to not to damage the soil/turf in extraction; therefore ceasing all turf hunting.
I decided not to go back out until it rained well again...and it finally did.
Man, this is a weird Summer. :icon_scratch:

Congrats on that nice silver Quarter. Rain came through here tonight, not enough of a soak though. Still hoping for more rain prior to this weekend.

Congrats on the silver quarter. Please send the rain to NC when you are done with it. We really need some. Best of luck to you!
