Found this 8 in down. Brass and pretty heavy. Though it might be a ramrod end but I can't find any that match it. Any thoughts or ideas.

I've never seen one like it, but it looks to me like it sure could be a ramrod tip.

Not sure but it might be a "bung" or tompkin for a muzzle loading rifle. I have seen some like this, they are used to keep water, dirt etc out of the barrel.

That is the muzzle astragal part.

OR a gun part...
OR a Fireplace poker handle part. etc :)

It resembles a lot of things actually.
