This past summer I found a beat up silver spoon with a makers mark ''BT''. Recently I had the spoon restored by a very skilled silver smith. The spoon was made by a silver smith named Benjmain Tappan who went on to fight at the battle of Saratoga. Only about 16 of his pieces are known to exist with the majority residing in the Historic Deerfield collection and the rest in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and the MET museum of Art. I found this piece in a field that was believed to be a trading site. That same day I recovered a 1738 1 reale, and a 1760s silver etched cuff button. Enjoy, and thanks!
