Rare "Order of the Garter" Sterling Silver Enameled Cufflink, Silver Coins, & Wheat
Today's keepers included a 1948 Roosevelt Dime, a 1951 Washington Quarter, 3 1/2 Wheat pennies (one chopped in half), a Qing Dynasty Chinese coin, and a very cool Sterling Silver enameled cufflink with a really cool inscription on it.
The cufflink appears to have the crest of Great Britain on it. It says "Honi soit qui mal y pense". The translation from Old French means: "Shame on whomsoever would think badly of it" or "Shame be to him who thinks evil of it". It is marked Sterling on the back. I think it dates to Victorian times. Call me crazy but I think this may have once belonged to a member of the Most Noble Order of the Garter... as the border around the crest appears to be a garter and the Order of the Garter had this motto. According to my research the Order of the Garter is the highest order of chivalry and the third most prestigious honor in the United Kingdom (inferior only to the Victoria Cross and George Cross).

Everything after I cleaned it all up a bit:
