Found at a site where it’s possible, but something just seems off to me. There’s also a hole in it. Maybe I’m overthinking it, maybe I’m not. Thanks for looking, and Merry Christmas!

Since you asked:
Your "face" of a North Carolina State Seal Militia "Staff Officer" uniform button is not a repro, it is an Original, and is shown as button NC-4 in the Albert button-book. Albert says your 3-piece brass button's (missing) back said "Waterbury Button Co. *" -- which means it dates from 1870 to circa 1900.
