The only thing I notice about the coin is the wear on it. Just a guess, but I'd say if it's fake, my thoughts would be the coin would be somewhat pristine.

Assume it's a repo; have the seller convince you otherwise;starting with verifying its composition of .833 silver.

Based on the look of the wear, color and imprints, it looks authentic :zoom:. I would recommend getting it tested by a coin/jewelry dealer though.
 

Thanks for all the help everyone, I'll just pass up on purchasing the pendant. I only have pictures and no way to otherwise test
 

I think it's genuine, but without see the edges it's hard to really tell.
 

yes it is real, it is a fairly inexpensive 2 reales Fernando VI, looks like it was whizzed and then oxidized to blacken the negative space. Spanish, not Mexican...not a valuable coin to bother faking, made to imitate a shipwreck coin pendant.
 

different coin, same maker....not a cob....Florida beach shop?
