well much of it looks real but the "O" over the "M" has me wondering. I've never seen that mark but then I haven't seen all type of reales that were minted.
Not sure but who would go to all that trouble to create such a piece if fake? May be real. This is a 8 reale for comparison.

what had me really wondering was the number of petals on the "flower". I usually see 4 petals not 6. The O above the M as i take it is from Mexico City mark.

I agree....it's just weird when there are so many variations. On the etrac it hit a 12-45. It's my favorite find still. Thanks for your opinion Ocean7!

Hey Cojo. There were several varieties of Phillip Reales with the six petal rosette. Great find. I've never found a cut piece

Yup it's a great find. Especially for your area. I never get tired of Spanish silver in the dirt. Hope you find more
